My early season prediction is the Mavericks. They were there last year, and got beat out by Shaq. Shaq is hurt and out of shape now. Nowitzki is still playing like an MVP without Nash. The Mavs defense is great, with Avery Johnson coaching. Josh Howard is a star now, and they have one of the best benches in the league. As long as Mark Cuban keeps paying, they will have the flexability to keep getting guys through trades and free agency.
