OK here we go:
Start out the season on a strong note with a 52-0 shutout of WKU. Follow that up with a 38-17 handling of Idaho. At this point we make it up to #6 in the polls. Unfortunately, the next week disaster strikes and we fall to Washington 21-36 behind Locker's solid arm. Fall to #12, and it's time to regroup with a 55-0 shutout of SDSU and a 34-17 win over Kansas State.
Going into the Texas game, they are already at 3-2, with losses to Texas Tech and #6 Oklahoma. Texas is ranked #18, Nebraska #11. Despite that, we needed no motivation in route to a 32-3 stomping, thanks to solid games by Lee throwing and Helu running, and suffocating D that held Texas to 234 total yards and 4 turnovers (2 picks, 2 fumbles).
Next week is #22 Okie State sitting at 5-1. We barely edge them out 17-10. Then a disappointing Missouri team redeems the season by upsetting the Huskers 34-20 with a huge game from Gabbert. After that, we cruise against Kansas 30-10, take care of a hot Iowa State team 24-19, and take down A&M 28-17. Coming into the regular season finale against Colorado, we are sitting at #14 with a 9-2 record, whereas Colorado is 2-8. No matter though, they jump out to an early lead, take a backseat, and them go out guns blazing as they score 21 points in the fourth quarter but the Huskers barely survive, 33-30. It's off to Dallas, Texas for the second straight year.
It's #14 Nebraska (10-2) vs. #3 Oklahoma (12-0). Thanks to solid offensive line play, Rex and Roy both rush for over 100 yards. First quarter ends 0 to 0, and we score on two sustained drives in the second to go up two scores. Later in the 3rd we would add another score, and for Oklahoma it was too little too late. Final score, 21-7.
#10 Nebraska has received an invitation to play in the Fiesta Bowl vs. #11 Wisconsin who made an at large bid. Things stay competitive early, with Nebraska on top 7-3 after the first, and down 24-14 after three quarters, but Wisconsin explodes in the fourth to turn it into a beatdown, final score of 52-17.
Final standings: #17 Nebraska, 11-3 Big XII Champions
Roy Helu Jr. rushed for 1600 yards on the year. Alex Henery won the Lou Groza award.

honestly, yes. but i would be really happy if we won a bcs bowl. i would not complain about the season above, but i would be ecstatic with that season except a bcs bowl win. then we are 12-2 (great record for anyone) and have a bcs win and a lot of momentum going into big 10 play. just as long as this season is better than the last, though, you really cannot complain.
