NCAA Recommends Recruiting Changes

This has to be how much they will make through the school (revenue sharing, aka House settlement money), not NIL.

As the courts have told us NIL is a completely separate entity that can not be governed by the NCAA

I think NSD will be a thing of the past. Little advantage to signing six months before summer workouts.  School might get someone better. Top tier athletes might get a better offer.

also, not contract related but regarding roster limitsp. So you start camp with no more than 105 and 5(or more) get injured. And for  argument sake, season ending injuries.  Do you get to replace them and where would they come from?

This is all so dumb.

Here is a contract that you need to sign where we will tell you how much money the school will be paying you to play football.  But in no way are you considered an employee of the school...

That's why it won't work, and the NCAA is bailing water here. This all just goes round and round with lawsuits and challenges until athletes organize and collectively bargain. That's the only way this can end.

I mean ... I think they should be employees.

But that would be true of an independent contractor as well, who are not employees.

I know we fear losing our loved/productive player every year. This will exasperated it.  Everyone is a rental. Will be a new team every year. Will take the fun out of watching players develop- D1 schools will not be able to develop players- with the exception being the 1% talent

Eventually schools/players will find someway to navigate this, but why sign players at NSD?  Maybe for the ultra elite programs signing the ultra elite players, but then why would a player sign? They will hold out for the best deal. At some point someone has to put their chips in.

I know this is a bit of a rambling, but it hit home. We were contacted earlier in the week and told baseball will not be signing any freshman this fall. I totally get it. With contracts and roster limits no one knows how to proceed.

and as long as I’m rambling - all this school versus athlete rhetoric has me feeling like what about the fans?  Would CFB exist without fan support? Would any revenue generating sport exist without fans?
