82% don't necessarily think that we'll win, just that we'll beat the spread.

If the defense we thought we were having this season shows up, then we will win the game. Also, if we use the wildcat for 50% of the time, we will win. But if we keep on doing what we're doing, we will lose by 14. Up until the Wyo game, Nebraska hadn't covered in the last 4 games before that.

I think this is really a tough one to call. I could see us losing big.... I voted for wisc -10. but would I be shocked if our team looked totally different? not really. I could see this being similar to the v-tech game a few years back. tough to say. I think we still have some growing to do and arent ready for a team like this right now. I think by the time our secondary gels we will match up much better(and I think that will play out)

I'm honestly surprised the line opened up at double digits. I'd bet that the line drops to about 7.5 by game day. As negative as I am about Taylor's throwing abilities/limitations, Austin Cassidy's Anthony West-esque coverage skills and our overall inability to go out and play passionate, defensive football, I have to go with Big Red to be the spread here and I'm picking us to win this week. This couldn't have been scripted any better for Wisconsin, IMO. First B1G road game, a hostile environment, we open up a 10 point underdog...Pelini will have the boys ready this week.

31-24 Big Red....though my instinct tells me there will be more points scored in this one, I have to believe we can hold them to under 30.

I posted the same thing on here last night and everyone seemed to disagree. I bet the line drops to 7 or 7.5 its already dropped to 9 and as money rolls in it will go to at least 7.5. With the news of crick playing for sure the hype will build and line drops, this happens with many big games we play in. (SEE NU VS. USC 2007)

i don't see how we suddenly fix everything that is wrong just before playing the Badgers......Wyoming with a freshman qb gave our DB's a fit and we were only up 14-7 at the half. Wilson will pick our DB's silly......and he can scramble up the middle as well.....just asking too much from this team until a bunch of things get fixed.

Badger fan here. I just want to address this RUTS reputation. Last year, UW scored 70+ on Wofford, Indiana, and Northwestern. In all of those cases, the vast % of the damage was done on the ground or by 3rd-stringers. There were also some defensive scores that added to the total. In the Indiana game where UW scored over 80, the one highlight they show is a long-bomb wounded-duck, shoulda-called-fair-catch thrown by the third stringer when they were up 50. That was the only pass thrown in the 2nd half -- the only one and it was 3rd down and long at the time.

The other case that people point to is going for 2 against Minnesota midway through the 4th quarter when up 26 or something like that. Bielema said "the card said go for two". I think that was pretty lame, but given that Minnesota nearly came back on UW the year before (UW had a two-score lead and was inside the gopher red zone when there was a fumble and a long scoop & score to tighten it up considerably), you can halfway forgive him for trying to play the percentages. I said halfway -- it was a little bit of RUTSing and it got the coach fired

I don't think there should be any worry of RUTS with UW on Nebraska -- you guys are waaaaay to good -- just concerned about winning at all.

UW scored the 70 points in 3 quarters against Northwestern, with the last touchdown coming off of an interception. Yeah going for 2 against Minnesota looks pretty bad, but they're practically in-state rivals. When Jim Harbaugh did it to Pete Carrol it was him being a "fierce competitor" and sending a message, but UW does it and it's a crime against humanity. What a load of bs. If you want to keep us out of the endzone, then man up and put a fu**ing helmet on the ball.

Either way you won't be able to please everybody. If I was coaching and the other team was taking a knee the whole time in the 4th quarter...I would feel like that is a bigger slap in the face. But that is just me. If the team was still playing their starters and they were still really trying to score then I can see being kinda mad about that.

I am taking Nebraska though, but I will never bet on my favorite team...I just have too much clouding my judgement and I am too emotionally invested to make very rational decisions. Plus Nebraska is a terrible team to bet on, because you just never know what team will show up game to game.

I'm not saying "take a knee" the whole quarter...I'm saying that I wouldn't want my players scoring, after we'd already put up 70 points. If that means letting the opposing team bring them down after a couple of yards, then so be it. That would be far less offensive then running it up to 83. You guys were up 52-13 halfway through the third. If you wanted to get your backups quality reps, then that's a perfect time to put them in and let them get after it. You guys scored 83 (eighty effing three) points and you're going to tell me that you didn't run it up? C'mon, man.

When Jim Harbaugh went for two when he was up 48-21, it was a classless move. There are folks that may have excused that because of the lashings that Stanford took at the hands of USC, but you need to act like you've been there.
