***Nebraska Athletic Director Search Megathread***

Which one would that be, the one that went .500 after his predecessor's recruits left campus, or the one that did everything in his power to alienate the fanbase while also proving unable to stop a jet sweep?
It would be the two that each won over 70% of their games.

"Osborne said Pelini won a lot of games but, in the end, probably didn’t know enough about his character before he hired him."

No doubt.  But he wasn't hiring a family counselor.  He was hiring a football coach, and he hired a good one.  It's not easy to evaluate a person's character in an interview.  In hindsight, it didn't work out so well.  Especially after TO left.  If he'd been replaced by someone besides the Ginger Assassin, things may have been very different.

2002 on, how did he do?

Look at all the D1 programs lining up to hire your "good coach."  And Pelini is working with Jim Tressel, another legend, yet Pelini's antics remain the same, his questionable decisions remain the same, and his results remain the same.

@Isle of View - Sorry - I had meant to quote 'fire mike' and I quoted you by accident. There was a poster named 'cm husker' that was in instant thread-destroyer here a little while back.

Point?

TO hired a good football coach who turned out to be a jacka$$ when he had to work for another authoritarian jacka$$.  Now people know what kind of a jacka$$ he is, but once Pelini is off the NUAD dole, he'll be back on the market and someone will be willing to ignore the jackassery in return for the winning.

I don't hold Osborne responsible for Pelini's personal failings.  That's all on Pelini (and a little on Harvey and Sean).

Ahh, thanks.  When you said handle I thought you were talking about a big bottle of booze and fire mike was calling me a drunk!
