Nebraska athletics not a fan of Fox Sports' "Children of the Corn" send-up

Maybe they need to rethink the mascot name if it bothers them so much.
Holy crap yes. Yes, Memorial Stadium is surrounded by concrete, but this is an ad for the CORNHUSKERS. It's a play on Children of the CORN. It makes sense, and it's effective advertising.

We don't need to prove that eastern Nebraska is "civilized." Anyone with half a brain already knows that.

People are just too dang sensitive nowadays.  Everything has to be reviewed for political correctness to make sure some delicate snowflake doesn't get offended.  This is why Saturday Night Live isn't funny anymore.  Our AD whining about this only adds to the problem.

*Almost* any publicity is good publicity.  Do we prefer that Fox Sports not have Nebraska in their promotional material?  I don't think so.  The ad is fine.

NU couldn't handle a coach that screamed a lot.

Can't say I'm surprised they wouldn't embrace any kind of association with a murderous, satanic, child, death cult.

***Breaking News!****

FoxSports has released a new 30-second promo for Nebraska that the AD reviewed and approved!  It's way better than the first one IMO.  No cornfields.

If that doesn't get the blood pumping for football, nothing will.

Great for recruiting, too!  It presents a positive image in a non-threatening environment, doesn't use profanity, or any offensive stereotypes!  I like the "direction". The Athletic department totally redeemed themselves.

high five, guys!

It could have been worse, they could have compared you to any one of the COTC sequels.
