:yeah   This is the first thing I thought of when I heard about the incident.  The guys pray this before the game and then do the stupid.  

Besides - why do we give the other team extra incentive by acting as though we are undefeated and are so full of ourselves.   We have accomplished nothing thus far - being 6-6 and reaching a bowl is the barest of expectations.  We've fallen below expectations for 8 years.  A little humility is still in order.  

BTW:  Can we just have captains next year who have earned the right to be captains and retain that title for the whole season??

I dunno, maybe creating a headline and distraction when the team is incapable of executing the basics with what really matters? 
 

A “single digit captain” acting tough before the game but then is incapable of making a tackle and wrapping up and helps give up a 70+ yard touchdown?

fans wonder why we always come up short and crumble in close games- but then never want to point the fingers at the players who should be setting a winning example and let childish stunts pass to go along with a losing record.  This team and program will never reach the level we want when this losing culture and behavior remains

Unless one of the opposing captains' mom shiv'd your mom in prison or something, just give them a fist bump and head back to your sideline.

It’s not that weird when for 10+ years the headlines regarding this progrum fall in the negative to embarassing category 90% of the time compared to 10% being positive. Even 10% might be a generous statement

If our players and coaches, and apparently some "fans," don't get it about all that, then my heart goes out to Tom Osborn and (hopefully many) others who do get it about game day behavior.  I am coming around to thinking that there could be an underlying reason for Nebraska's football woes over time, some reason that is the diametric opposite of what used to be besides player and staff quality.
