Nebraska chasing another milestone in 2012

Nebraska is four wins shy of 850 wins. Only Michigan, Texas and Notre Dame are part of the 850 win club. Michigan will also be chasing an exclusive milestone in 2012. They're five wins away from being the first to reach 900 wins. Tennessee is six wins shy of becoming the 9th team to join the 800 win club.

If Nebraska wins its first three games, they'll have a chance to earn win #850 in Lincoln on 9/22 against opponent TBD. Since we've already locked up 6 home games in 2012, I'm assuming the 9/22 game will fulfill our yearly seven home game quota.

Good reminder of our place in the hierarchy........................(iirc, Penn St is right there with us and we must be close to Texas for 3rd...........??)

Here's the current list if anyone was interested or didn't know...

Michigan----------895 wins

Texas--------------858 wins

Notre Dame------853 wins

Nebraska-------846 wins

Ohio State--------825 wins

Oklahoma--------821 wins

Alabama----------814 wins

Tennessee-------794 wins

I really hope that we can pick it up over the next 4-5 years so we're able to get to 900 before Notre Dame & Texas.

That would be awesome.

IIRC, Texas *was* behind us until Bill Callahan happened. :-|

And they only won 1 less game than us in 2011. It should be interesting to see how both teams records end up after the next couple seasons.
