Nebraska & Clemson

Since when did we get a$$ grabby with the people we play. I mean no disrespect but where the hell is the trash talk.
How about the week of the game? Besides, the Clemsonites that have come on here have been nothing but good fans. I am sure that we'll have fly-bys just as they will on their boards but in the mean time....fun for all!

It's not like they are bandwagon Fuffalo fans! :box

It starts when the game starts and then maybe some more if we win. But tell then I will uphold the peace.

I am a life long Husker fan and remember watching the 1982 Orange Bowl. I have wanted to see Nebraska play and defeat Clemson ever since. But having seen the class of the Clemson fans, I have to say that I now have a respect for them and wish them well, except for the Gator Bowl!

Here's the deal.........man, in my youth (college) my buddy KChusker got us kicked out of bars every weekend for talking trash and starting trash with opposing fans........as we have traveled the country together, trash has been talked coast to coast, but once in a great while, you run into fans whom seem to be geniune and polite....

Perfect example IMO were the Tennessee fans at the Orange Bowl in TO's last game. They were so humble and polite, it was hard to talk trash. Yes, they were confident in Manning and Co., but they didn't engage in trash talk......it was more about how they "hated Florida" than anything else. Even later, when we played them in the Fiesta Bowl, they were good people to be around....

I put Clemson in this category.....they have a lot of hatred towards SC as we do towards CU - KSU - MU.

Right now, we are just talking sopisticated :cheers football.

I am sure that at the game, we will all be vocal a bit, but probably respectful...depends on how much KC has to drink

I have so much respect for Nebraska's football team, history on the gridiron, and fans that I just don't feel the need to engage in trash talk. It's not like you all can't back up what you say about your team. Nebraska has proven over and over again on the playing field how well they play the game. I only wish Clemson had as much success over the years, but with the recent changes in coaching staff and how inspired our team is playing right now I think everyone at Clemson is just simply excited about this opportunity and what it could mean to our program to do well in this bowl game. I think fans from both teams will agree that if you based your opinion on season stats it does not really tell the story of how either team played in their final games. Clemson is not the same team that started 3-3 and I am sure right now Nebraska is not the same team that lost to VT or Mizzou. I was there the last time Clemson played Nebraska. It was a great game and I expect this game to be no different.

I also have a great deal of respect for the Nebraska football program. Having met some fans, now, I have a lot of respect for y'all too. In fact, next season, I'm planning to pay as much attention as I can to Nebraska, and pull for you guys. I expect that this will be a great game, though I really don't know what to expect - I haven't really seen Nebraska play, so I'm a little leary of a lot of trash-talking (plus, the last time I talked trash, the words "National Championship" came out of my mouth, and 'Bama spanked us like an AA school on national television, much to the delight of my coot coworkers).

Also, for the benefit of any of you who ordered your tickets and parking pass from TicketMaster, wondering when you might expect their parking passes, I ordered my tickets 2 wednesdays ago, about 20 minutes before the Gator Bowl web site updated the front page with "Clemson accepts invitation...", got the tickets last wednesday, and my pass came today, via USPS from the Gator Bowl, itself.

Hope to see y'all at the game!

Oh, what the heck... Clemson 31, Nebraska 7. Based solely on the results of my victory over the Huskers in NCAA '09. Sorry, you just couldn't handle Spiller... ;P

Talking smack is sort of overrated. Especially on a friggin messageboard.

My dog could talk smack on a message board.

Says Mr. Cynical himself.

I'm trying to recall a post where it wasn't directed negatively towards someone's post in some way. You write the book on smack talking on message boards.
