Nebraska & Clemson

Talking smack is sort of overrated. Especially on a friggin messageboard.

My dog could talk smack on a message board.
ohh yeah!! well woof woof aaahhhrooo wof wuf!! arf arff

and if you don't like it I've been told the espn board will teach fido a real lesson

When you can have intelligent conversation about a subject such as NCAA football, you really don't have a need to talk smack, unless the other side is being disrespectful, and there has been none of that. The Clemson fans that have come onto this board have been very respectful towards our opinions, and have added thoughtful comments, which has been very much appreciated, while enlightening us Husker fans to what has been going on with Clemson's program.

Another thing that makes it kind of interesting is that both programs seemingly are in the recovery mode and making progress. I hope that even after the game they will spend some time on our board and continue to contribute, even if they aren't in the Big 12 (even though my offer to trade CU and K-State for them still stands). They have been a real pleasure to have in our discussions...I kind of look at them the way I think a lot of other teams fans look upon us, being good sports, and accommodating to other teams fans.

I have no problem with the clemson fans. From what I've seen, they've offered nothing but great conversation...(and pictures of hot women)....I think deliberate smack talking should only be directed at fans that deserve it...(Colorado, KJuco St., Missouri)...Clemson deserves our respect, before, during and after the game.

That is all well and good, I hang with Clemson fans all the time, my wife is a Clemson grad, but I hear every ytr. how Clem. beat us in 81 and being from here and having to live here I almost wish we were not playing. I DO HOPE WE SPANK a$$.

I live in SC(hometown of I.M. Hipp actually) and you won't have any issues with Tiger fans for those traveling to Jacksonville.

Yes, they'll remind you of the 82 Orange Bowl, but that was their proudest moment so its understandable

I for one will pull for Neb. as long as they are not playing Clemson, This gives me another reason to enjoy college football, the quality of the people means just as much as the quality of the players and Neb. has shown me that it means something to you too.

Thanks for the opportunity.

Still think Clemson wins.

I have two extra tickets to the Gator Bowl in the Nebraska section that I would like to sell at face value.

The tickets are in Section 131 Row CC and seats 13 and 14. They are $50 a piece. Let me know if anyone is interested.

My email address is sscott@cliffscommunities.com

Thanks and GGGGGOOOOOOO BBBBBIIIIIGGGGGG RRRRREEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDD.

Since when did we get a$$ grabby with the people we play. I mean no disrespect but where the hell is the trash talk.

Here's the deal.........man, in my youth (college) my buddy KChusker got us kicked out of bars every weekend for talking trash and starting trash with opposing fans........as we have traveled the country together, trash has been talked coast to coast, but once in a great while, you run into fans whom seem to be geniune and polite....

Perfect example IMO were the Tennessee fans at the Orange Bowl in TO's last game. They were so humble and polite, it was hard to talk trash. Yes, they were confident in Manning and Co., but they didn't engage in trash talk......it was more about how they "hated Florida" than anything else. Even later, when we played them in the Fiesta Bowl, they were good people to be around....

I put Clemson in this category.....they have a lot of hatred towards SC as we do towards CU - KSU - MU.

Right now, we are just talking sopisticated :cheers football.

I am sure that at the game, we will all be vocal a bit, but probably respectful...depends on how much KC has to drink
you are correct, talking trash in this context would lack 'sopis(s)tication'....

As many others have said, trash talking is ridiculous. I have a good time talking trash to my buddies, but both they and I know I'm kidding and can laugh afterwards. I understand some good-natured ribbing amongst fans, but saying harsh and uncalled-for things to random people I don't know just seems stupid. It's one of the reasons I hated going to NFL games - the fans are generally ignorant, obnoxious, and sometimes obscene (language wise). (That's also why I believe CU fans get a bad rap; a lot of their "fans" are really just Denver Broncos fans who show up for a college game and act like they do when Denver plays Oakland.)

I much prefer having a good time and rooting for my team while the opposing fans do the same. We're all living in America enjoying the greatest game on earth. Why shouldn't we all have fun together?

P.S. I'm rooting for Clemson next season!!

Well, there's not much basis for talking trash to fans and a program of which one is not that familiar and has little history with.

Ya gotta respect Clemson's talent level too. Seems more like a case of mutually worthy foes.

Nope but maybe a little unrealistic
