Big 12Big 12 North Division

How it stands: Kansas is the only Big 12 North team with a winning record in conference play. Four teams -- Missouri, Kansas State, Nebraska and Colorado -- are 1-2 against Big 12 foes.

Favorite: Kansas. The No. 23 Jayhawks had won three games in a row before losing at Oklahoma 45-31 on Saturday. Missouri has lost two games in a row after it climbed to No. 3 in The Associated Press Top 25 poll. The division title might again be decided when Kansas and No. 15 Missouri play at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium on Nov. 29.

Dark horse: Nebraska. Kansas and Missouri still seem to be head and shoulders above the rest of the division's teams. The Cornhuskers have lost three of their past four games, but play Baylor, Kansas and Colorado at home.

On the Mark pick: Missouri

South Division

How it stands: Three teams -- Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech -- are 3-0 in Big 12 play. Oklahoma is close behind at 2-1 against conference foes.

Favorite: Texas. The No. 1 Longhorns have already beaten No. 4 Oklahoma and Missouri, and host No. 6 Oklahoma State on Saturday. Texas' biggest remaining hurdle is a Nov. 1 road game at No. 8 Texas Tech.

Dark horse: Oklahoma. The Longhorns would have to lose twice for the Sooners to win the division, but Oklahoma will be a heavy favorite in its next three games. The Sooners close the season with a home game against Texas Tech and a road game at Oklahoma State.

On the Mark pick: Texas

Conference champion: Texas
Still we'd have to win out and hope Missouri loses to Kansas.

Darkhorse, yes. Real dark.

As for the South, I do not see it so cut-and-dry.

Texas, OSU, Texas Tech, OU. They are 11-1 in conf, with the lone loss coming from OU in a rivalry game. These teams are not that far separated. This isnt the 80's. Each team plays good on the road, and has high powered offenses. Week to week - it'll be a toss up. There is no easy way to pick who will win the South. They'll beat up on each other. Whoever does not play their A game will lose when they play each other. There is a reason why they are all ranked in the top 10.

Texas plays OSU, T-Tech, KU (and their interstate rival spoiler A&M).

OSU plays Texas, T-Tech, OU

T-Tech plays KU, Texas, OSU, OU

OU plays Neb (old rivalry), T-Tech, OSU

No matter what, it'll be a fight and no easy paths for anyone. Man I love football!

I don't think it'll happen, but it would be nice. The national sports guys would then say that the North is weak as hell if NU wins it. <_<

OU lost to a horrible Colorado team last year, and you can use the they were on the road excuse all you want. There's a chance we can win! I'm sick of seeing people already chalk this one up as a loss. You gotta believe!

If we win that game, we can go 6-0 and take the north, it can happen!!
