Isn't that the reason Nebraska went to the west coast offense? Can't have it both ways <_<

Navy and Air Force, Academy teams play good competitive football using the option style offence to overcome the disadvantage they have in recruiting. Georgia Tech. is running the option and doing well. We went to the so-called west-coast offence because we had an AD who wanted to put his stamp on Nebraska football. He also had his head lodged deeply in his a$$. To run the option and get the advantages it gives you, you have to recruit the right style players and these players may not garner a lot of stars from the recruiting services. I'd take several of our option style teams into a game with any team out there.

The more I've read about Milt Tenopir, the more I feel he was way under rated.. (Some USC blogger did a breakdown of Our Running game from the '90's as well as BYU's passing attack..There was a link somewhere around here with mention of Milt's almost impossible to find book "The Assembly Line" isb# 1887002340).

His blocking schemes were emulated by several NFL teams..especially in Red Zone Offenses.

This thread has had me wondering about Oklahoma...I probably studied them the most when I was younger, because of the rivalry and more times than not, Sooner Majic would cause me much heartache.

There's a lot of teams having their best teams of all time right now..Even Florida...I think they would beat their '95 or '96 teams rather easily...But How about OU?..Last year's team set scoring records and were #2 seems like most of the season..With todays faster more better athletes, does anyone think they could really hang with Switzer's Wishbone teams of the '80s?..(at least consistantly?)

It would be fun to see if someone could make a computer generated game that you could enter size/Strength/Football Speed of each position.....But how could you measure heart? or Coaching abilities in every situation?
