Nebraska jumps to #9 in both polls

Sagarin's numbers have us outside the top ten. He's clearly concerned about our final four games, two of which are away at 100K+ seat stadiums.

We're #12 in his poll, behind 4-4 Missouri. Missouri is up there because they've played the #1 SOS (ours is 38th).

It'll sort itself out in the end.
I despise computer rankings. Every year Sagarin and Massey have some D-II teams rated ahead of BCS conference and FBS teams.

I know KU is terrible, but Pitt State would lose by 50 if they played each other.

Massey and Sagarin are the BCS' version of the old saw, "Lies, damned lies and statistics." They can all be manipulated to say what isn't necessarily true. They are the most unbiased of the rankings, but not necessarily the most accurate.

Obviously the coaches didn't follow or watch the vandy vs Ark game last night because they is no way they are 8th team in the country. Vandy did all they could to give ARk the game and finally succeeded in doing so
This is why Arkinsaw is ranked #8....

W - Missouri State (51-7)

W - New Mexico 52-3)

W - Troy (38-28)

L - at Alabama (14-38)

W - Texas A&M (42-38)

W - Auburn (38-14)

W - at Mississippi 29-24)

W - at Vanderbilt (31-28)
Congrats to the Huskers, you guys have earned it but yea Arkansas deserves their ranking. That's a tough schedule and Vandy's not a pushover, they've been in every game except Bama and Carolina when that team had Garcia and Lattimore. I'd venture to say that many Big Ten teams would struggle with Vandy, they're essentially the Northwestern of the SEC.

For what it's worth, Sagarin has Arkansas' schedule ranked 61st in the nation.

Nebraska's is 38th.

hmmm I don't think its worth much. At Bama, At LSU and hosting SC, Auburn, and a game that was essentially at A&M. That doesn't seem like a 61 schedule to me but ok.

That's schedule as played, not projecting for the season. They haven't played South Carolina or LSU yet.

Ok I'm tracking. It's not like facts matter with the BCS anyhow though.

My question is: How in the hell does Stanford move to the #3 spot when they went into a 3rd OT with an UNRANKED team?

edit: Well atleast the AP has them ranked 4th.

It's messed up but ok as long as it somehow keeps Boise out of the MNC

??? Always hard to tell when someone is speaking sarcastically with no indication, and I don't understand what the sarcasm would be here. I 'm virtually certain that Sagarin's system doesn't factor in future games, nor is his computer "clearly concerned" about anything but facts of games played.

USC is only unranked in the polls they cannot be voted in due to their probation. The AP had them ranked #20.
