Nebraska lands Chubba Purdy

If I had my what if's answered they'd go like this:

- CT for two years as starter

- BP for 1 year as starter then be a first round draft pick

- Harburg or Torres dual it out and start for 3 2 years

yup :) thats my "what if"s" now to start praying :yeah :P :facepalm: :bang :duel

I know you are thinking positive, but if Thompson has a good year next year, he will probably head to the NFL. He will turn 24 years old next October, so I don't see why he would stay for a 6th year of college.

Not a bad point. 

Gonna be a very interesting spring session coming up; I do fully expect Thompson to win the job, but one big question to think about is what is going to happen if Smothers beats Purdy out for the backup role.

The good thing is we will actually have a #2, #3 etc....Not just the starter and some after thoughts.  Same with the RB room.  Be good to identify starters, but develop them and those who back them up. 

 
There is no way they got Thompson telling him he wasn't guaranteed to start. 

There is also no way they got Purdy without telling him he would one day start. Thompson for a year and then it's the Chubba show.

I like this except one thing, after Purdue or Smothers then the reigns get turned over to Raiola  :)

Yeah I don't know what they told anyone, but it would be peculiar to bring in a QB of Thompson's caliber to bench him.
