Nebraska no longer one of the best jobs in the country?

There is a long list of good coaches who would kill to have Nebraska's facilities and resource's. This is one of the last things I'm worried about.

Serious question

What coach of any worth would come here knowing that 9 wins isn't enough to save his job along with the built in disadvantages to getting top recruits?

The coach will have a tough time winning next year so basically he'll be expected to win at least 10 games and a big ten title within 3 years to keep his job -
Get that 9 number out of your head. Its never been about a static number. Its about not getting blown out on National TV. Its about competing for championships, not finishing 3rd in a division.

The coach coming in next year will have more talent (as rated by the recruiting services) than every team on the schedule.

Money. The wallet will be opened this time, not the tight purse strings that TO had in 2007.

Path to the playoffs. It is not a bad path. Wisconsin, Iowa and Minn are the teams you have to beat to get to the champ game.

Also, with the autonomy vote, expect some relaxed rules in recruiting that will greatly benefit Nebraska. (basically by moving some of the basketball rules over to football)

Get out of the pessimistic view. The only thing Nebraska does not have is a large local recruiting base.

Most coaches (leaders), especially the good ones, have an innate confidence that they can succeed in any environment. They're competitors of the highest order, and that cockiness is what we want in a coach. It becomes a trait of the players.
