Nebraska, Tennessee Canceling Games in 2026 & 2027

Makes sense…it’s an unnecessary game that won’t really help either school with a win but a loss could be catastrophic if one is on the bubble to make the playoffs.

play a mid major…get a win…move on

Or.....

Schedule a marquee game early, get people watching

Improve your all-important SOS

Secure an early ranking

Don't be a pu&&y and assume you'll lose

Win the game.

Enjoy the swagger Bowling Green can't deliver

-Get people watching…people will watch anyway

-Improve SOS-it will already be just fine with 9 BIG conference games

-Secure early ranking-thats laughable if people think that matters when the calendar turns to December

-Being scared-If that were true in any way, we’d be filling out MAC applications

-Win the game-that would have been nice

-Poking fun at the BG falcons-ask Penn St if bowling green will be a push over…

I personally wouldn’t be upset if they kept the game, I’d love to see it.  But it’s not about what I want or any of us want for that matter it’s about doing what’s best for business…and in that respect, I completely understand the decision.

You are living in the past.  SOS means absolutely nothing if you are a member of the B1G or SEC... finish in the top 4 in the conference and go to the playoff.

Eh, if you're sitting in that #13 - #20 tier where the arguments take place and where, frankly, Nebraska would be lucky to find themselves, the balance will likely be tipped by Quality Wins. If we're already in the Big 10 Top 4 and you're sure the 5th place SEC team wouldn't jump us, good for us. We obviously had a great season.

SOS means quite a bit actually, even if people think it's used inconsistently.

Also, don't be a pu&&y. You can use that swagger all season.

Tennessee didn't have to put Nebraska in this position. It's a pretty s#!tty thing to do.

We rescheduled for them when they wanted to play the Bristol game. We asked to reschedule and they could have done the same for us. Instead, they took the cash and left Nebraska with a PR nightmare.
Yep exactly. Tennessee is the baddie in this. We help them out and they don't us, then their Athletic Director blames it all on us.

You can’t pull an audible this late in the game? Hahaha …Covid, anyone? Heck, Nebraska pulled a plan C off with Bethune-Cookman. I’m sure it ultimately was NU that pulled the hook on it, but White is a tool. He also contributed to screwing over Noah Vedral by not releasing him.

I really don't have that big of an issue with cancelling the games.  Things change, especially 20 years later.

But the part where we can't get our story straight is a bad look.  First it's because of stadium work.  Then Rhule says it's dumb to play games like this.  At least be on the same page with your story (and preferably the one that at least can be made to look a little better).
