Heisman Trophy Winner
Lil red is going to have to be sacrificed. With Rutgers going to the Gator Bowl that makes Nebraska and Kansas the two P5 programs who haven't made a bowl game in the last 5 years.
Good luck to Noah Vedral though.

Wow…we are in great company…Kansas football. Oh wait…Kansas is good at basketball. With Rutgers going to the Gator Bowl that makes Nebraska and Kansas the two P5 programs who haven't made a bowl game in the last 5 years.

are we even in position to field a competitive team?
Rutgers went 5-7 and have the academics. They deserve it more. If Nebraska wanted an undeserved bowl, they could have gone last year, but the majority of the offense voted no.
Umm… game is just over a week away. Would take at least a day or probably 2 to get guys back on campus…. Another travel day down to Jacksonville… so, bringing everyone back, passing Covid protocols, having guy put on pads that have had more than a month off, bc winter conditioning hasn’t begun…..playing a game against a team that has been preparing…setting a group up for failure.. all for 4-5 practices and a little bit of $$ that has to be split…. And you question my logic…ok???Your right, how would it benefit a team who could use all the additional practice and gametime prep they could use plus a 5mil paycheck. All while trying to keep the players and coaches you still have showing the team has some guts and a pulse. Yea who could benefit from that.
If a team gets an invite in this scenario do they really want to go with short notice. My guess is many would decline. There are several reasons why it wouldn't be practical. It might be workable for some.Umm… game is just over a week away. Would take at least a day or probably 2 to get guys back on campus…. Exactly. With all of the logistics, and being dormant for about a month, this makes absolutely zero sense, which is why, Nebraska, at 3-9 shouldn’t be considered. If a team gets an invite in this scenario do they really want to go with short notice. Really wish Frost would had put his foot down as a coach and said we were doing a bowl game, even if that meant we did so with a third string offense. We desperately need(ed) the reps.
