After reviewing all the stats, I have to realize that the strength of MU's schedule plays a big part in the comparison. In their games against ND and OSU they played very well against those top programs. Of course, they beat Penn ST. So, it's difficult to get a handle on the likely performance of teams in a bowl game. I believe that other factors may be more important.
For example, will MU be as intent to play their best in this game as NU, despite the public talk from Carr. CU was not mentally in the game Nov 25th in Boulder. The Indy Colts had a similar mental problem yesterday at their home field. Of course both of those teams who lost were big favorites. I suspect that NU will be more enthused/motivated for this game. MU is disappointed that they are playing "down" to a team that they don't respect in a bowl that they think was "beneath" them.
Although I'm not predicting an NU victory, I am certainly hoping for the upset!
