Nebraska @ Washington

I am going to go on record saying they will be in Lincoln for the UT game. GD loves story lines. For the whole year they ran the last 5 seconds Texas TT game and Crabtree's play. The build up for this game will not be rivaled by any other game on this week. The only games of note inked so far that will be competition is USC vs Cal; however I don't think they will go to that game becuase they will be at the rematch of Washington vs USC on Oct 2nd for there Heisman match up (QB's).

Back to the UW game they will be going to Florida. That game was really close last year and it will be Florida first game of substance without Jesus.

Very good point

Anyone plan on going to this game? UW

I plan on it but have been to the Northwest and know nothing about the Seattle area. Anyone know of where to stay or what to do (besides hit a coffee shop) :ahhhhhhhh

There was also talk of a Thursday ESPN game for UT-NU during the middle portion of last year. I think the main reason was because of both teams having the week off before.

Anyway, got my hotel at the Ho-A-Day Inn as the Cornhusker and E- Suites were already booked for the weekend.

I am so stoked about the 2010 season, the off season is going to be so boring this year!!!!!!!!!!!! :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh

I'm thinking about going to the game also. Never been to Seattle, and have always wanted to visit. Have a friend in that area, so I'll ask him and see what he says about what to do there.

Back in 1997 (the last time the Huskers played in Seattle), they were supposed to be a national title contender with Tuiasosopo at QB.
Wasn't Brock Huard the starter but got replaced by Tuiasosopo during the game?
Dammit! I was beaten to it! Yes he was because Huard got destroyed by I believe Peter in the 1st quarter.

I was thinking about making the sojurn up to Seattle from NorCal for this one.

Same Weekend:

USC vs Minnesota

Arkansas vs Georgia

Arizona vs Iowa

Stanford vs Houston

Auburn vs Clemson

Texas Tech vs Texas

I think UF-TENN has us beat for that particular weekend. Kiffin and his huge mouth will definately say more stuff to get ESPN fired up again about his sub-par team playing UF.
This was the same argument UGAHusker presented last year. Gameday ended up going to the Texas Tech-Texas game that week:

I think it depends on the Washington-BYU game. That should be a good one, and if Washington wins, they should be in the top 25 for sure. Since Big 12-Pac-10 matchups are rare in non-conference (there was ONE this year: KSU-UCLA), it should have a good amount of national appeal. Washington's stadium is one of the louder stadiums in the nation. Plus the Blackshirts vs. Jake Locker angle is a good one, and as far as I can tell, Gameday has never been to Washington.

Why would game day go to a team that finished 5-7 the year before, when you actually have a game that people are interested in.

Florida/Tenn is by far the most interesting game for the nation

Texas/Texas Tech is a better game.

Not a chance, will be lucky if it even gets a fox telecast, and most likely a pay per view.

If Washington was a bit better this year maybe but since they had a hard time no. the three i bolded above are more likely for gameday.

I can guarantee gameday will be here for texas NU

I'm terrified about this game, which is a good thing. It's exciting.

Washington fans are pumped about Sarkisian. He took a team that was possibly 120th (dead last) in the FBS in 2008 (0-12 including a loss to absolutely horrible Wazzu) and turned them into a very respectable 5-7, including a huge win over USC. They were probably the best 5-win team in the country, as they played a tough non-conference slate, including a close loss against Notre Dame, where a very questionable replay cost them the game, and a respectable showing against LSU.

Back in 1997 (the last time the Huskers played in Seattle), they were supposed to be a national title contender with Tuiasosopo at QB. They were ranked #2 in the AP poll and we came out and punched them in the mouth. We went up 21-0 and they never recovered. Their fans will remember. They have a tough game at BYU to open the season. If they win, they should be 2-0 and ranked in the top 20. We will be 2-0 and ranked in the top 10. Now, only eight months...

:snacks:
The Dawgs have great fans! We smoked the Dawgs that day in Seattle and their fans had nothing but great things to say after the game - kinda like in Lincoln. They figured they would cream us and looked past us. I flew into Lincoln the next year with the Dawgs on Friday before the game at Memorial Stadium...Dawgs Bark and Howl on the plane, I told them there wouldn't be any Barking and Howling on the way home and sure enough, Sunday am back to Seattle - No Barking and Howling - OK, maybe a little GBR!!!!!

Florida Tennessee is probably going to get the nod. Urban is going to come back from his leave in August, so I think there's going to be plenty of time for them to bring up the Urban/Lane feud.

I'd rather have Gameday come for the NU/Texas game than a relatively meaningless game with Washington.

I think this game gets gameday.

1. CBS angle. Gameday promotes ESPN Games or ABC not CBS.

2. Jake Locker will be the No 1 player on everyones board.

3. Bo has the best defense in the nation against the best QB in the nation.

4. We have the scoring title for our defense going against Locker. How is Bo going to stop him???

5. Possibly two undefeated teams at this point in the season. (Not sure who Washington has early)

I say we get gameday on that one. I'll bet a starbucks coffee on it.
