Nebraska Wrestling

Wow, what a terrific night for wrestling.  Nebraska is off but if you're a wrestling nut, tonight is pretty sweet.  Iowa/Penn State is going to be an incredible atmosphere.  Here's the schedule for tonight on BTN:

Friday night's BTN broadcast is part of a six-hour block of wrestling coverage from BTN on Friday night:

  • At 5 p.m., BTN's "On the Mat" is a mini-documentary series that shares stories of the wrestlers, coaches and programs from the Big Ten.
  • At 5:30 p.m., BTN will air a special wrestling pre-dual studio show, "B1G Live: Wrestling Pregame," where Rick Pizzo will preview both of Friday night's high-profile duals, Michigan vs. Minnesota and Iowa vs. Penn State.
  • At 6 p.m., No. 2 Michigan hosts No. 11 Minnesota. Tim Johnson and JD Bergman will have the call from Ann Arbor.
  • At 8 p.m., No. 3 Iowa hosts No. 1 Penn State. Shane Sparks and Jim Gibbons have the call from Iowa City.
  • At 10 p.m., BTN will debut an hourlong documentary titled, "The B1G Story: The Brands Brothers," which shares the story of Iowa wrestling coaches Tom and Terry Brands.

Should be a really fun dual.  Great litmus test for Nebraska especially at the upper weights.  Lots of great matches.  I think Michigan's ability to get bonus points in a couple spots will ultimately be the deciding factor.  Sadly, I think UM wins 20-12.

Oh wow, i expect  it to be much closer. We just cant give up bonus at 125. 133-197 are winnable matches for NU. I believe Lovett can get bonus as well

8?? Im sorry but that is delusional.

125- 100% Michigan and bonus points

133- Michigan Favored

141 Slight lean to Michigan

149- I will take Lovett against most guys. N

157- Toss up but I will give Robb a W. N

165- 100% loss

174- Toss up

184- Michigan is favored

197- Ill give it to Schultz but its not a guarantee

HWT- 100% loss.

I havent missed a dual on Cliff Keen. I am a little disappointed in our seniors. Red Venz Schultz have been here forever as starters but its hard to argue they are better than they were 3 years ago.

It might be, my most pro-Nebraska result I can come up with is:

125--Suriano by MD, he's just on another level and NU is really young.

133--Ragusin by dec, I think NU can keep it close, Ragusin is wrestling really well right now

141--Red by dec, Micic is still kinda rounding into form, good matchup of savvy vets

149--Ridge by MD, if Storr is out, Ridge could get rolling here

157--Robb by dec, Robb should be able to win these types of matches

165--Mich by dec, Bubba just doesn't seem to be wrestling great, Amine is.

174--Mikey by dec, we'll give the hometown team the edge here.  Labriola won by MD last year at Big Tens

184--Amine by dec, This should be a great match and Venz might try some weird stuff.  Hard for me to see him getting over Amine who is so darn tough to score on.

197--Schultz by dec--Brucki is a really tough out here, Schultz needs to prove he can win these kinds of matches.

HWT--Parris by dec, if Lance can keep this to a regular decision, that would be a great result.

Tie dual, goes to most points scored tiebreaker.

Michigan has 3 guys with the last name amine?

Nevermind, misread the 184.

I agree could go to bonus points. Ridge could get a pin. Also our 133 pounder might get a W hes gooodd just pulled his redshirt. Also bubba wilson wrestled the younger a mine very close in vegas
