Pretty pathetic, so far. Allred isn't anywhere near the top 3. Keckeisen pinned him, and Starocci teched him. Smith dropped his match to the #12 ranked freshman. We might win 2 matches, but I'm not going to hold me breath.Penn State showing why they're the dynasty. That said, pretty disappointed in the performances from our heavier weights. Lenny & Silas look like they've regressed in dropping weight being less explosive. McDaniel was gassed 90 seconds in and gave weak shots the rest of the match in giving up the several takedowns. I know Penn State has a killer lineup, especially in the upper weight classes, but I was hoping to see us put up more of a fight so far.
Ridge looked good in the win and one of the few bright spots on an otherwise tough night. I can't put my finger on it, but our guys look stiff and less nimble in several classes, especially returners who dropped weight from last year. We also seemed to be pushed off our spots quite a bit with Penn State being physically stronger which was disappointing. JVD continues to improve and look impressive, but the bulk of the squad looks fairly average where it'll be a fight to hit AA status at Nationals without some significant improvements or a lot of lucky breaks.Lovett with a minor upset.
