Nebraska's injuries over the past few years.

Will there be a point where we are going to have to stop and take a look at our training department?? Maybe somebody is not doing a good enough job of keeping these players healthy?? Maybe not teaching and enforcing proper stretches. I don't remember having this many injuries in the past.
I'm fairly certain that at the end of each season one of the things that's examined is the training.

What we're seeing at NU is no different than what happens at any other school. I'm currently living in (ugh) Arkansas, and their injury report daily looks a lot like NU's - and that's even with Nutt cutting back on two-a-days this year to avoid injury. Their only star receiver - Marcus Monk - injured his knee last week and is out for 6 weeks. Their starting left guard, I believe, is out, as are a couple of starting defensive lineman.

It's like that all over - the main paper in Arkansas reports injuries for all SEC schools, and it's like that for just about all of them. We just tend to focus on NU - but it happens everywhere.

Back to seriousness.............is Arkansas or any of the other schools mentioned as secretive as Nebraska when it comes to reporting injuries??

Oh, yeah! Last year at Arkansas, during spring training, there was a quarterback battle. One of guys was Casey d!(k. Seems he injured his back - never a word about it. Come fall, the guy's unable to practice for three weeks. Only when a reporter caught wind of it somehow did Nutt admit to the injury in the spring and why he wasn't practicing in fall camp.

They had a similar situation with their fullback, Payton Hillis. Got a calcium deposit on his thigh. For months it was reported as a "deep thigh bruise", until he was scheduled for surgery. Again, it wasn't until then that the truth came out.

Last year, Stephen McGhee had torn a muscle in his arm during fall practice, limiting him throwing the deep ball and that didn't come out till just a couple weeks ago.

I think a lot of schools try and protect the privacy of the players as much as possible.
Remember that TT QB (I think it was the one after Kingsbury) he had a blown out ACL on one knee and played the whole season without really being able to step into his throws, no one but coaches knew.

I heard from one of the announcers on an OU football game that Bob Stoopid is very secretive when it comes to injuries. He even goes as far to lie and say that they are just fine and they are just tending to "other" issues off the feild.
