I don’t know jack about basketball. If I can see patterns, what can people that do it for a living see?

Nope. Got him across the arm.
All ball = ball goes backwards
Across the arm = ball goes forwards
Exactly. It wasn't Coffey's position. It was Palmer's obvious push off
Ummmmm........... Physics
Come on there are two forces and which ever is greater will cause the ball to go that direction. Yes getting 100% ball will make it go in the opposite direction of where the impact was and getting no ball and only arm would make it go in the direction of the shot. But your hard fast rule is funny at best.
Um .... OK. You can take that up with Mr. Newton I guess.
….and you can take it up with basic logic - Didn't know Newton spent much time on the courts?
I've provided the basic logic - if you hit the ball, it will go backwards; if you hit the arm, the arm stops and the ball keeps going forward.
You haven't provided anything other than wanting to believe that the refs just screwed us.
and what you failed to notice - is in many cases they both happen. So does the ball go backwards and forwards????
Dude, you have no argument. And now your asking about things that make no sense. If you'd like to present your case for why the foul was a bad call, please proceed. Otherwise quit making yourself look desperate.
Looks like the ball would have went forward no matter if there was contact with the other player or not...
