Nebrasketball vs Iowa

Yesterday as my buddy & I were walking back to the car after the game we were struggling to find 5 Huskers that actually seemed to care about winning/playing hard.  We came up with Gary & Hoiberg right away.  We added Burke after a few seconds.  The only other player we could come up with was Grace & he only plays in trash time.

I would not skip Brice.  He has always gotten frustrated & seemed to fade in some games.  It's got to be tough to play for a team with very little scoring help.  He is getting double& triple teamed & bumped & grabbed on every move.  Berke & Conner are young, but these 1 & dones don't care. Worster, Morgan, Ulis & Meah.  It's the new age of basketball.

We were just talking about yesterday, not the season as a whole.  It seems like if Brice's shot isn't falling our he's not getting shots it affects both ends of the floor.   There were multiple times he completely lost his man yesterday - it didn't always result in an Iowa basket or open shot but it was obvious.

Frustration!

So, is this tourney supposed to now be better competition than the NIT?
Maybe???  It is likely to be mostly "major" conference teams (the 4 above + Big East), but that doesn't always mean better.

Not sure what the payouts are for either tournament.

I would guess that if you are a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT, you are probably better off financially because you will host a couple of games so you get some ticket revenue + concessions + whatever the NCAA pays out for the NIT.  If you are a 3-4 seed, hard to say.  If you are a 5-8 seed, probably better to go to Vegas.

It did force the NIT to stop giving auto bids to teams that won their conference in the regular season, but didn't win the conference tournament.

Doesn't bode well for Fran's job if they regularly played in an arena that was 2/3 empty.  That's what PBA looks like when we play the random SWAC teams early in the year, but at least there's a crowd for the B1G teams.
