Nebrasketball vs North Dakota

That was the kind of game we lose, most seasons.  Glad to get a W when playing far from our best!

They have to win these (ND and South Carolina State) games if they want to make the tournament.  They are also going to have to figure out how to beat the teams they should (Minnesota).

When they are playing well, they look pretty good.  They need to get consistent at rebounding and finishing close to the rim in my opinion.

So, didn't watch.  Was this a case of what happens when we don't have Mast?
In the first half it did look like they were missing him.  A lot of their offense runs through him at the high post & they seemed to not be running that version of their offense much in the first half.  They ran it a lot more with Allick in the second half & they played much better.  Allick isn't as good of a passer, but they seemed more comfortable running things through him like they usually do with Mast.

There was a HUGE change in effort too after Hoiberg ripped them a new one at half time.

The combination of two got them 53 points in the second half & the win.

All valid points...I would add that offensively, we have played much worse than we did in the first half (Creighton, Minnesota), but our defense and rebounding were very poor in the first half.  Might be the worst half this season for both.

That said, as ECisGod mentioned, much better in the second half.

Wilcher was pretty great all game.  I have dogged him a lot in the past, but that guy kept us in it and was great all game.  Lawrence played well in the second half...more assertive.   Gary was a board beast in the 2nd half...Everyone else was kind of blah, overall.

Well, hopefully this was just a case of a trap game the team thought they could just go out and win by going through the motions.  They then woke up and put the game away.

We should also easily beat South Carolina State to be 11-2.  That has a nice ring to it.

But, if they play a game in conference like they did last night, they lose.

Allick had a good 2nd half, Williams acted like he did not want to be there.
