Need a Kicker

We started @ Auburn's 40 twice in the 2nd half and got no pts. We need to have an option to kick field goals!

 
Being reminded of something like that just pisses me off. Makes me remember the conference title game when this happened many times as well...

 
we have a kicker with a long leg coiming in. just like we have DB's coming in. I really think this team is going to be tough next year. esp on D

If he comes in as a freshman and bails us out in situations like we needed a good kicker in today he will become quite popular and fast.

It's too bad we don't have fans that walk-on to try and be the kicker like Boston College... :thumbs Now thats a neat story.

 
Congdon only having a long of 40 on the year and the wind doing what it was probably made it hard for BC to put him out there. I agree that we need a leg, not only for field goals, but kick offs as well.

 
We need a major improvement in speacial teams. Holly crap are we weak in that department. We need a good kickoff kicker and some guys that can scream down the field and make the play. Plus some more speed on the offense.

 
That 4th and 11 call was a hard one to make...............I couldn't have made that decision. It's either go for the long 4th down and pray to the gods or put Jordan out there to kick a 46 yard field goal into the wind when his long on the year is 40.................that's a tough call and people tend to forget that. We do need improvements on our special teams though.

 
I was sitting in that end zone at the time, and I really felt that Congdon should have been given the opportunity to kick that. The wind was virtually a non-factor. I mean what are the chances we convert 4th and 11 with the success we were having in that secong half? Poor decision, almost as bad as the plays ran immediately before that.

 
No, Congdon is great. The short kicks are part of the game plan.

Also, why did we go to get this kid from Texas when there was a better kicker in state, who wanted to come to NU, but wasn't offered?

 
Your kicker shouldn't be on scholarship if you don't trust him in that situation. Plain and simple, if you can't put enough faith in your kicker to at least give him an opportunity to make a FG from inside 50 yards in a clutch situation, you need to find another guy to receive his free education.
