I have a JVC and it seems to be working pretty good.
even if you get an HDTV if the show you are watching is not broadcast in HD the picture is still pretty good.
only thing that sucks for me is when a NU game is not broadcast on an HD channel, one of the Networks here in the Springs doesnt and that channel sucks to watch. ghosts all over the place, and even sound delays

I have never seen a ghost on my Panasonic, no matter what the source was. Sometimes my cable box has sound issues and I have to change the channel off and back to get the sound right though.
As to the newegg comments, be very careful when using average joe reviews. You will find many have nothing to do with the item, and more to do with delivery, or the users complete inability to install said item correctly.
