Horrible situation!

Prayers for the family and for Isaac Kolstad himself!

I am not familiar with Nelson but wow, Rutgers & Maryland in the news almost weekly recently?

Nelson is the quarterback who beat Nebraska last year at Minnesota, then he transferred to Rutgers.
Sorry BrayWyatt; I said that wrong. I knew who he was, just not what he represents! Is he or has he been in less than desirable positions before?

Have Rutgers done anything positive since joining the Big 10?

Some new info....looks like he didn't start it, but kicking a guy in the head or anywhere else for that matter is Bush league at the best.

Surveillence footage showed Kolstad punching Nelson in the back, the complaint said. The force of the punch knocked Nelson and another person to the ground, the complaint said.

A friend of Kolstad told investigators he was speaking with Nelson, trying to calm him down after Kolstad punched him, when he turned and saw Kolstad laying on the street.

The friend said they did not know who initially punched Kolstad.

The friend told investigators Nelson pushed past him and kicked Kolstad "in the head once, possibly two times."

You punch somebody in the back, you're pretty much asking for someone to get dirty with you.

Regardless, situations like this are terrible. One guys gets attacked, defends himself, things get a little out of hand and he is facing felony charges. Just don't fight if you can avoid it.

Nelson and Kolstad had a "heated" verbal exchange and were separated, according to witnesses. A police officer that viewed surveillance footage reported that Kolstad threw a punch that hit Nelson in the back, which forced Nelson to fall to the ground.

Kolstad began to move away and an unknown male ran after him. The unknown male delivered a punch to Kolstad's head/face. Kolstad immediately went limp and collapsed to the pavement.

Nelson's girlfriend was observed trying to hold him back, but he pushed past and approached Kolstad. Nelson then delivered at least one kick to the left side of Kolstad's head. The police officer said the video clearly shows that Kolstad was defenseless as Nelson delivered the kick(s).

You kick a defenseless person in the head, you belong locked up.Its one thing to defend yourself, but you are not in harms way when theguy is already down.Dirty little punk!
