Lincoln - Nebraska football fans have an opportunity to buy tickets to a pair of Husker home games and three road games during the 2007 season on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 8 a.m.

Because two non-conference opponents did not sell all of their ticket allotments, tickets to NU's home games against Nevada (Sept. 1) and Ball State (Sept. 22) will be made available. Fans can purchase up to six tickets per person for each of the two home games through Huskers.com or by calling 1-800-8BIGRED. A total of 500 tickets are available for each of the two home games at a cost of $55 per ticket.

In addition, Husker fans also have an opportunity to three Big 12 Conference road games - at Missouri, Kansas and Colorado. Those tickets will be available for fans to purchase by calling 1-800-8BIGRED. Fans can also purchase tickets to all five games in person at the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office in the parking garage across the street from Memorial Stadium.

Nebraska fans hoping to follow the Huskers to Columbia, Mo., when they take on the Missouri Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 6, can purchase tickets for a cost of $65 each. Tickets to Nebraska's game at Kansas in Lawrence on Nov. 3 can be purchased for $75, while tickets to the Huskers' annual post-Thanksgiving showdown with Colorado in Boulder can be purchased for $60.

All tickets to Nebraska's road games must be made over the phone at 1-800-8BIGRED or in person at the NU Athletic Ticket Office.

Any one had any luck getting through to the ticket office. Busy for 2 hours now. Why don't they sell awau tickets on line instead of having to call in like it is 1993. :madash

Huskers Sell More Than 1,000 Tickets in 10 Minutes
Lincoln - It wasn't quite a case of "Gone in 60 seconds", but more than 1,000 tickets to Nebraska home football games against Nevada and Ball State sold out in less than 10 minutes Tuesday morning.

With Husker fans waiting by their computers and phones for the sale of more than 500 tickets for each of NU's two homes against Nevada (Sept. 1) and Ball State (Sept. 22), tickets flew out of the ticket office.

With a sellout streak that will hit 283 consecutive games in the Huskers' season opener with the Wolf Pack on Sept. 1, it is no surprise the tickets went fast.

"With the visiting teams returning portions of their allotments, it made it possible for us to make some more Husker fans happy this morning,"Nebraska Assistant Athletic Director for Development and Ticketing Diane Mendenhall said. "This was a great opportunity for some of our fans who might not be season ticket holders to come to a Husker game early in the season."

For those fans who were unable to purchase tickets Tuesday to watch the Huskers in person at Memorial Stadium, Nebraska still has tickets available for road games at Kansas and Colorado, that were made available to Husker fans this morning. Tickets must be purchased by phone at 1-800-8BIGRED or in person at the Athletic Ticket Office next to Huskers Authentic in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage.

Nebraska also had approximately 300 tickets available for the Huskers' road game at Missouri on Tuesday that sold out before 10 a.m.

Nebraska opens its season against Nevada with a 2:30 p.m. kickoff that includes an ABC regional telecast. NU's road opener at Wake Forest will be televised nationally by ESPN, and the Huskers' Sept. 15 showdown with No. 1 USC at Memorial Stadium is set for an ABC national primetime telecast.

my question, why are these visiting teams returning their tickets already? We still have a week and a half until the opening game and Ball State isn't for awhile still. Did all these fans call up and say "we're not going to buy them...go ahead and give them away"??

I got 6 tix for the CU game. Don't call the 800 number, I couldn't get through for 2 1/2 hrs. Call the 402 #

I was able to buy tickets to Ball St back in July from the ticket office. They initially offered those on the season ticket waiting list first crack. I think Ball St. must have only taken a small amount.

I believe its in the contract that they sign that they have until X date to sell them or they must be returned to us.
