Team HuskerBoard
I warned you.

Finally built myself a new computer. Finally. The last one I built I converted to a file server. I have the hardware to play a few games that I bought a year ago.

specs:

DFI Infinity nForce4 SLI motherboard

2.2Ghz AMD 3700+ San Diego (OC'd to 2.7Ghz)

2GB PC4000 RAM

250 GB Western Digital HD

NEC DVD burner

Big a$$ heatsink and fan

EVGA GeForce 7800GT video card

Lian Li case.

:WTH

You've got an SLI chipset, and you're not running dual cards?!?!?!

And isn't that an AGP card? Not PCIe? ('Course, that damn server fan on the heatsink makes that a little difficult - so how's about water cooling?)

I can see right now that you need to be taught to appreciate good equipment. The only way I can see to do that is for you to ship the rig to me (at your cost, natch), and let me slap a few goodies in it. I should have it back to you in, oh, a year. ;)

Pretty sweet rig!

I bought the board I did because I didn't want to sink 500+ for dual 7800GT's, but if they came down in price I could pick one up for cheap. Although then my giant a$$ heatsink would have to be replaced because it is blocking one of the PCI-E x16 slots :( .

Oh and the board can use dual core processors, which I can buy when they aren't eleventy billion dollars. It's a pretty stout board at just above 100 duckets.

No way, this thing is stayin right here ;)

What the hell, it was worth a shot, right?

And I need a new gaming rig - can't get one now because I've got to shell out for a new server soon - I'm running Windows 2000 Server. It's an old-as-dust Dell PowerEdge 6100/400. Makes a hell of a racket, and I can't upgrade to Windows 2003 Server with that hardware. I tried Linux on it, but can't find a driver for the proprietary RAID controller.

Well, I'm envious. Great gear - and really upgradeable.

I'll bet it does - that's why I'm volunteering to, uh, provide the break in period. Yeah, that's it.

Good wiring job, by the way.

I tried to make it as clean as possible. I had to cut that hole in top, rear that you see in the pic. That made it simple to route most of the power cabling.

I forgot to mention the PSU. It's an Antec NeoHE 550W modular. Modular meaning you only use the cables you need. All but the 24 pin and 4 pin connectors for the board are seperate and you plug in the ones you use. I couldn't find anything creative to do with the IDE cable for the DVD drive.

I concur with hskrfannnwk.
