New DB Coach Brian Stewart

Isn't anyone kind of worried about how he hasn't ever stayed in a single place more than three years and most places one to two years and then moved on? Maybe he is a hard case who is tough to get along with? Maybe there is good reason for all his moving around... I don't know. What I do know is we are trying to find a DB Coach that won't leave after a year or two and can anyone tell me this guys history is indicitive of that?
The years of the moves don't seem to indicate that. They either appear to be a move up, like a mid range college job to an NFL job usually when a new staff takes over, or the moves seem to happen the years when the staff he was with was let go. I would say it looks like he would not be a long term solution, particularly if the NFL came calling again. But I wouldn't make judgments about how he gets along with guys. Riley has made statements about his guys have to treat people right, so that would not seem to add up.
Pretty typical with assistant coaches.

I like the hire.....If he actually was hired.

I'm secretly hoping he's not the new DB coach... for all the reasons already mentioned, and in addition, i'm not too sure he's actually a good teacher, tbh.

you don't keep working in any field for that amount of time if you don't know what your doing Winner.Warren could recruit and has good character but our dbs missed a lot of ints last year to not looking for the ball.

When he was the DC with the Cowboys, they ranked #9 in total defense. I think he may know what he is doing.
I am not trying to say he isn't qualified, but when he was DC for the Cowboys, he wasn't the guy running the defense. Wade Phillips was the HC and real defensive coordinator, while Jason Garret ran the offense.

I think this is a good hire overall. I am not worried about his numerous stops in his past. That's life as an assistant coach in football.

You hope he's not the DB coach because he has too much experience in too many places?

How do you know he's not a good teacher?

Pretty much what I was saying. He also wasn't "running" the defense in Houston. the only worry is that he likes the 3-4 and we aren't running that. Shouldn't be too big of a concern though.

He's not running the defense here so I don't think we have to worry about him switching us to a 3-4.

The guy has a plethora of experience coaching DB's and being a high-level assistant in the NFL and college level, and fans are still bitching about it. Unreal.

Since our DB position coach seems to be pretty much a revolving door as assistants are always moving up, etc. I hope his contributions here (for however long he stays) aren't limited to only on field coaching.

We really need a recruiting specialist in this position.

Are we to assume his recent connections to the Northeast will prove immediately valuable?

Or, just where are his connections? (since we lost valuable Southeastern connections with the departure of Warren)
