Network has hired award-winning sports talk radio
personality Lane Grindle to host the call-in talk
show "Sports Nightly". The program offers commentary
on Nebraska high school and college sports news,
featuring guests including Nebraska coaches and local
sports talents. "Sports Nightly" airs Monday through
Friday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on 22 stations across
Nebraska. Grindle will host his first broadcast on
Monday, January 2, 2006.
"Lane brings a wide range of talents to the Pinnacle
Sports Network Team including experience as a sideline
reporter, play-by-play commentator and talk show
host," said Paul Aaron, President of Pinnacle Sports
Productions. "His enthusiasm and knowledge of
Nebraska sports are assets to our organization."
"I've been a Husker fan my entire life and this is a
great opportunity to work with a renowned network and
experienced team of sportscasters," says Grindle. "I
understand the history of Nebraska athletics and the
pride fans have in their teams and hope to bring a good
mix of new ideas and traditional sports talk to the
show."
A native of Hastings, Iowa, Grindle graduated from
the University of South Dakota. For the past three years
Grindle has served as the Director of Sports Operations
for KVTK-AM radio, the ESPN affiliate in Yankton, South
Dakota where he hosted an award-winning daily sports
talk show. He also covered football, basketball, and
baseball for the University of South Dakota's Coyote
Sports Network. Grindle spent the summers of 2002 and
2004 at KOZN-AM, the ESPN affiliate in Omaha,
Nebraska co-hosting the afternoon drive show. Grindle
covered the College World Series, winning a First Place
Associated Press Award for original sports broadcast.
