WA coordinator means he oversees the entire defense. He will spend practice time going from station to station giving input and reviewing the players. Pretty much makes him the "head coach" of the defense.

Yes, but some DC's cover their own position group during practices and leave the other positions to the other assistants during station work.

Charlie McBride coached the D-line while also being D.C. But he designed the overall defense and made the defensive calls on game day.

Gotcha. Technically, the defense was better when Banker worked with a group instead of all groups.(2016 vs 2015)

no, it has been alluded to that he might be moving on to be a DC somewhere in the future.

I don't think Stewart has any reason to feel that way. His corners made good progress under his tutelage and he had a nice 2016 recruiting class for DB's.
