New PA Announcer

My son was a little disappointed, but he's still young enough that he can go after it the next time it's open too. Being one of the seven asked to demo was pretty friggin'cool, tho.

 
This just got weird.

Schuetz removed from Husker announcing job

LINCOLN, Neb. —Jon Schuetz, the man hired Monday to be the public address announcer at Nebraska football games this fall, says he will not get the job after all.

Schuetz says the University of Nebraska contacted him about a social media post Schuetz made months ago in the wake of the firing of former head football coach Bo Pelini.

The post, now taken down, reportedly was critical of the University's actions against Pelini.

Get ready for the brown storm. Schuetz is a pretty well-liked guy. I doubt this is going to go over well.

SE or whoever was in charge of this looks like a moron...not because they didn't check it but because they actually cared what it said.

 
Let's all pull for Tom's son. Grassroots wire-in campaign?! Ha.

Hope this doesn't gain too much traction nationally. Embarrassing, petty move for the University.

 
Another lesson for folks that use social media, what you put out there can come back to haunt you.

It would be interesting to see what he posted.

However, as someone hiring someone??? If it were simply critical of firing Bo..etc, that's just giving an opinion that a lot of people had. However, I've looked at Facebook and not hired certain people because of what they have posted. That is simply the way things work nowadays. Think about that next time you post things.

What makes this weird is that he was hired then let go from something that was posted before he was originally hired for this job.
