New Rankings

So everyone the new rankings are out, and guess what! People who are voting for these things neither watch the games, nor listen to people who did. Tech has moved up a few in the rankings and Nebraska has lost more in the way of votes. This whole system is BS. Huskers showed that they are a team that is capable of feats of excellence and this is the response. A loss, ok. Yet, this was not a defeat. Not by any stretch of the imagination. Look at it for yourself at:

ESPN College Football Rankings

This is what eats me up, there are two 3-2 teams in the top 20. Give me a fooking break already!

As mentioned above, these clowns obviously didn't see the game.

So I guess our only chance to break into the Top 25 is to hope Colorado(#24) continues to win. If they lose I suppose we are screwed.

Well Iowa St. lose hurts the Huskers. PLus, Nebraska, whomever the opponent is, should win at home, they lost....lesson learned, don't lose.

stength of schedule is the problem, nothing new you should be used to it by now, alot of the teams that are 3-2 have played top ranked teams unlike the huskers who have played no one in the top 10 and came in unranked as well, right now this team lacks credibilty in the national picture and i agree to a certain degree because the schedule has been quite weak up to the pitt/iowa stish games, and i think both of them will turn out to be a bust in the end being ranked, especially pitt. preseason ranking sucks, but it does figure in.

The only thing I can say is welcome to college football. For as long as I can remember...you win, you climb...you lose, you drop. The fact that people are still voting for us says we are worthy of getting looked at. Nebraska does NOT deserve to be in the Top 25. Maine and Wake not Top 25 foes. Pitt has been a huge downer. It took 2 ot's to beat ISU...if we beat them by 10 in regulation we're in, and we had to climb out of a grave to only loose to TECH. About the remaining part of our schedule, probably not going to get points for beating Oklahoma this year, maybe Colorado, KSU will put us in. However if we get a bowl bid this year and loose, we will be receiving votes again. We want to be ranked we must win.

The rankings for this year are of no benefit. The gains on the field and the excellence in recruiting are paramount. Do you think that Stoops is concerned about rankings?

Experience can be a two-sided event. Some people spend years redoing the same thing over and over again and don't change. In other words they don't climb the ladder, but they have a lot experience on a lower rung. Others, climb albeit sometimes seemingly slow. But progress must be a part of gaining experience to eventually reaching the roof.

We are, based on most of the data from the actual playing on the field, climbing. I felt that the years between TO and BC we were just putting in the time. .. kind of like the Colorado Rockies.

The three JC recruits who committed this past weekend saw something special about the team concept on the field in the second half. One referred to our team as a family. From last years bickering from some holdovers, that progress!
