Agreed. I think Kinnie has O.K. straight line speed but I don't see him as a shifty or deep play wide receiver. Just doesn't seem fast enough.

I know they practice multiple guys kick off returns each pre-season. So what if some of them aren't experienced at it? It wouldn't be much better than having to hold your breath every time Paul returns a kick for fear of him fumbling it.

Well, shiftiness doesn't seem to matter nearly as much as being able to follow the blocking while holding onto the ball on a kickoff (proof of that is Paul's TD return vs OSU). Shiftiness matters a lot more on punt returns, where a player needs to be able to create space for himself (see Paul's punt returns vs CU and TU in 2009).

That being said, I think Kinnie (and even Marlowe) is better than Paul at reading the blocking on kickoffs. In case you haven't noticed, Paul tends to barrel straight into oncoming defenders rather than show patience and hit the open holes (perfect example was his fumble vs ISU). I haven't seen either Kinnie or Marlowe do that once when they've returned kickoffs. Oh and even more importantly I haven't seen either of them put the ball on the rug.

Ok, I'm putting all the blame for Niles' fumble on the sign guy. Apparently he had the sign facing the wrong direction or something.

I think I read in the paper today that Jake Wesch is in charge of the signs? Didn't know he was a grad assistant.

 
I think Josh Davis is the all time yardage record holder. 1 cuz we got scored on a lot so he had his chances, and 2 cuz he CAUGHT THE BALL AND GOT UPFIELD FEARLESSLY.

shiftyness is wasting yards. You need Patience and a Burst, plus practice. That is all it takes to be a great return man. A great return man runs the same way as a 'wedge buster' trying to tackle him. Anyone looking for a lane or to juke the defense isn't gonna cut it. Get ball, go upfield, don't fumble the catch or when u get hit. (so how does Paul do on this criteria?)

 
Haha classic and HuskerNLimbo it's Zod from superman he has a line where he says kneel before Zod.
