New ST Coach Mike Ekeler

Cmon down Bruce Reed. 450 comes at a bargain. Maybe could use the money we save on hiring him to get him an assistant to help him count how many players are on the field.

Been reading through these comments and we need to keep Ek, give him a raise and more title. I always wondered why he wasn’t helping the LBs, so of course USC pulling on that string. Money and more title and I think he’d stay in his home state. You can’t buy similar home in CA unless triple the cost.

Ask Puka about the housing prices...

I feel Lincoln Riley and everyone else since Pete the "cheat" has underperformed at USC. But a coordinator at USC still likely carries more weight than being one at Nebraska for anyone with HC aspirations, If that's where EK would like to be.

Rhule says he offered him a contract extension that would make him one of the top 2 paid ST coordinators in the country.

My guess is that he wants to do more than just be a ST coach. Maybe his work with the defense in bowl prep was a tryout to be on the D staff and it didn't go well. Sounds like the USC job would be more than just a ST coordinator.

Also Rhule sounds like Ekeler is gone.

Also, I know it is the life of an assistant coach, but he moves around a lot. Tennessee was the longest time he was at one place (4 years). Since he became a full time assistant he's had 10 jobs in 18 years (USC would make 11 in 19 years).
