The situation at Tennessee was almost identical last year with him. It was announced he was looking at us and then went radio silent for quite a while before we finally announced we hired him. Guessing there isn't much for him to say until things are finalized. His agent is doing all the work with USC while he stays on the payroll here.
Can't tell you what discourages me more, the schedule next year or the fact that our CEO "talent evaluator" can't reliably keep our best assistant coach.
What do you suggest he do to keep him? Top money was offered... the guy job hops and nobody has been able to keep him.

He lost a very good assistant, but not God’s gift to assistant coaches. The sky is not falling. His energy and scheme helped our ST immensely and helped win a few games. His scheme is still in place and a long time co-coached with at Tennessee remains in place. Someone will need to step up with the energy aspect. I completely remember yelling at our kickoff returns in the bowl game. Sometimes, he was too aggressive and got pissed when Rhule over ruled him and demanded a fair catch later in the game
