Who did Mike Riley give half a million a year to for ST coordinator? THAT guy would be a downgrade from Foley, maybe my memory isn't so good anymore but I'm not sure that guy did anything but collect a check

That would be Bruce "gotta make my tee time" Read. Half a million for 30 minutes a day. A tremendous waste of money.

Coaching the spec team but doesn't even wear glasses. I'd rather we hire coaches who've walked a mile in their players' shoes and if he doesn't even know what it's like to be sight-challenged, then pass.

How long does it take Ekeler to turn our ST around? I would like to think in year 1 we will see a nice jump but it'll be year 2 or 3 when we see the jump to a top 25 special teams unit.

a) Depends on how good the long snapper and punter are we got in the portal.

and

b) As long as "a" is taken care of, special teams is something that should see drastic improvement over last year right away.

I miss the days of DPE returning kicks. Would be awesome to see something like that again.

It's more than snapper punter.

Our kick coverage, both punt and kick off, has been terrible.  I think we are better at returning punts than we have been but it's still an opportunity.

Great article on him when he was at NU.  The whole put up or shut up.  Definitely a guys who gets the most out of the players and is a players coach.

I agree.  But, I view those as more of a problem with scheme and coaching than actual tallent of the players.

I'm saying the scheme can be fixed almost immediately.
