New ST Coach Mike Ekeler

We are likely 3-4 or 4-3 without Eckeler. He has truly made a difference. If Rhule could find a A-plus coach for the O line then the sky is the limit for the program. The Oline is the most important unit if you ask me. They are needed to score points and sustain drives, ensuring the defense is well rested and the opponent's offense has fewer touches in a game.

People are enjoying throwing around the narrative that Rhule is just Frost + Ekeler, as if that's a criticism rather than highlighting a key way in which Rhule is definitely a quality coach to see a problem and do what it takes to fix it.

Williams now holds NU KO return for yards/return with 10 minimum (Walk on 2 weeks ago)
Barney 6th in the nation in total yards. Leads the B1G
KO coverage unit 1st in B1G.
One of the tops in nation.Cunanan 11-13 FG's, 35-35 extra points, 68th nationally in scoring.

This in just one season....With ST's made up of kids who were already here (Cunanan portal guy from Charlotte. If we could capture this again at some other spots, NU would be back. Right coach, right time, is magic....Indiana did something similar with Cignetti. Granted he did the whole team, BUT Ek did it on ST's....A liability fo years at NU. It can be done. And replicated.
