Hahaha. I'm out. Just hate seeing a good coach leave. I felt the same what about Knighton and White, Sanders getting let go, Carl taking another gig, etc...Good coaches are hard to find. Seems like harder to find for NU. Seems like when we get a good one, they leave (get hired away). I'm tired of waiting for that turnaround.
 
Special teams isn't the mystery everyone makes it out to be. EK brought a scheme they can continue while he's gone. Does having a good return man help? Sure does but you also just need guys who are willing to do it. I look back to my Chicago bears during the Hester years. Was he awesome? Yes. But the punt return team was basically the starting defense minus one guy and then Hester back there. Not a bunch of bench guys trying to be rah rah. If nobody noticed why we could return more punts because this yr something crazy happened. They assigned someone to pick up the long snapper as he's running down field. Not rocket science
 
This stuff with ST & Ek is kind of strange. I feel like Rhule is turning this into a social media soap opera. I wish less was being said in public and keep this stuff in-house.

I hope Ek stays based on the way ST's play under his leadership. Everything else makes me feel there's some differences of opinion between Ek & Rhule and maybe some other coaches.

This is how Rhule operates. He needs to spend less time talking publicly and more time doing what is needed internally to become a .700 coach instead of a .500 coach.

What about getting Charmar Brown!!!! I AM KIDDING. We gotta ride with who we have. Not who we had or want.

Watching the NIL market and Rhule's alleged comments, I do not think NU will be "competitive" in bidding wars or offering multi million dollar deals to guys. We have to do it with a combination of getting kids in HS who want to be here, develop them and more importantly keep them. Use the portal to fill holes. If we do hit the portal look to proven FCS guys that have production over potential (yes quoting Cignetti), but I think their NIL value might be more within the reach of our budget. Or some G5 guys like Colondrea. I think he will do very well at NU next year. Hoping Danny and TJ can push him and each other to make sure the best QB starts and 1b and 1c are right there ready to go. Using the RB room as an example, Rhule is betting his future on guys we have and development.

NIL, revenue sharing, players suing and getting sued etc.....It's simply the NFL lite now.

Reality is that massive NIL deals for a lot of players won’t be as common place anymore. Every school has a salary cap to manage to now and have to decide when to splurge. Certain players are still going to get big deals, but that means that other players for that school may not. What Texas Tech did last summer in signing 30+ players isn’t going to be commonplace now since the Rev share model went into effect this past summer after TT and other schools built rosters with unchecked NIL.

i have no idea if we had as much money as the biggest spenders or not...but i would say we had more holes to fill that most teams so we probably did have to prioritize where to spend the money. for the most part i believe we did well. wish the burburija(sp) thing had worked out. with that last move we would have done as well as could be expected IMO
