That dark blue on red is still ugly AF, BTW.

 
The hosting company said that there is no back up. May be time to change hosting since HuskerMax is backed up daily. 

Try to get a programmer via freelancer or fiverr.

Have you tried reaching out to the former owners? We've never had a problem with this software before, and I know a couple of other sites that use it without issue.

It's odd that things just randomly break here. Not sure how that happens so frequently.

 
I have been searching for a programmer to fix these issues and not having much luck. 

If there is a member out there with programming experience I would love to work with them. Using the online programming sites is an exercise in futility. 

Personally I am not enamored with Invision. Xenforo is much more user friendly from a back end perspective. I was going to switch when I bought the domain but decided not to based on feedback.

I would implore you not to change this software. I think it would be a devastating blow to this site that would take years to recover from.

 
Does Invision use a parent+child theme system? Just from the kinds of problems I'm seeing, it looks like one is being updated but not the other.

 
Usually the way that works is that the parent theme forms the 'bones' that determine the basic layout of everything, while the child forms the 'skin' on top of those bones that customize the look for the specific site. Typically you shouldn't have to manually edit the parent theme, just update it when a new app version is released. The real updating (and any manual editing) would be done on the child.

 
Noticed today on my laptop that the section of the screen containing the threads is reduced to half screen size. Previously the thread width spanned across the majority of the screen.

Tried it on both google and firefox. Looks like maybe the banner isn't loading correctly; adding additional info near upper right of threads section.

Don't listen to the kids in the hall (Knappelc and the other crybaby egomaniacs).  They want what's best for them and their own personal interest.  And they will certainly let you know it.  But you prolly see that by now.

Do whatever you want.  It's your board.  :) Change it up, switch it over, do whatever you like.  Most of us will adjust and be fine. It's a Husker board for Husker football.  And that's the most important thing than anything else.

 
I haven't been on the admin side of either, but from the user side I would consider Xenforo to be a step down from Invision.

I have located a programmer that has experience with Invision and will be working with him early next week to fix the current issues. Did not want to attempt it on a game day weekend.
