Just curious - so was that Dyches kicking off when the ball nearly went through the back of the endzone a couple times, and caused the returner to fumble?
I guess I dont remember a ball going into the EZ. I remember one at the goal line that was dropped, but the plays were right in front of me, and I may have missed something when the guy in front of me stood up.

That was the one where he brought it out to the 1/2 yard line, I think.
I watched it on TV, and am pretty sure I remember at least 2 reaching the EZ. The 1 you referred to where the guy brought it out to the 1/2 yd line - he was actually in the EZ when he first touched the ball, so it was a mental mistake by attempting to return it - he clearly lost his place on the field.

And the other one I recall nearly went out the back of the EZ, and the returner fumbled it and then I believe just downed it.

But then again I did have a few last night, so none of this could be true. :wasted
Now that you and Dave mention it, you guys are probably right. We left with about 10 min to go in the 4th.

As far as having a few :wasted and your memory being a little sketchy, Ive been sicker than hell for about 3 weeks, and I think the meds are getting to me :dumdum

Disagree. If the guy is not getting his kicks up, and they look like knuckleballs, bobbing and weaving, barely getting through, it means that he needs to work on it.
I agree in the getting the kicks up department. But this kid kicks it as far as it needs to go and really that's about it. It seems that's how he controls the ball. Like I said you don't need to kick the ball to the Lied Center if you don't have to.

haha. Yea, easy-to-carry 12 Oz adult beverages sometimes skew your vision. :)

Any sighting of Nate Swift?  Nobody else can catch the damn thing
No doubt. Let's see some new faces. Even for a few plays here and there.

That is one thing I have noticed about his kickoffs. They arent the longest all of the time, but the coverage team seems to be right down the throats of the returners by the time they field the ball. Maybe he is told to kick it higher and shorter in order to let our coverage team make the play. I have seen him warming up before the games and consistantly having enough distance on 55 yarders, so Im pretty sure he has the leg to kick it through the endzone. Just a thought.

I think that is the point that Newearth tried to get across earlier, and you 2 could be right. :thumbs

Last night on the WOWT, that's pretty much exactly what Congdon said the coaches wanted him to do. They emphasized hang time and landing it at least inside the 10 yard line. That way, if the coverage has enough time to get down field, we can try bury the other team which did happen on Saturday. Albeit with some help from the WF return man.

Congdon also mention kicking off a tee in highschool and how it is different from kicking right off the turf. He said you could get away not having the best form when kicking FG's from a tee. He is working on his technique every day and actually, after watching some of his kicks again, the PAT's were actually better than they were against Maine IMO. Higher atleast. :thumbs
