Next Day Observations (Because you sure didn't want to hear them last night!)

Trucker,

I agree with everything, but one item. The team on the sideline. I never saw them hang their heads and I was right behind them. It was more like they just did not care. Very little interest it appeared to me. I noticed right off the bat. Very dissapointed in the staff over this. Lot of changes need to be made, in attitude, control and attention to detail. There was no motivation last night, no real interest from the side lines until it was obvious the game was in dire straights. Sad effort from all.

I feel Bo has our players tight wound too much at times and places too much pressure on them. Intense to the point of it being tuned out, and we could be better served by letting our guys play loose. It did us in against Texas, it did Cody Green in, and...well, not sure it has much to do with Taylor's flip passes, but that is one area Bo might have a different handle on, at least in the encouragement/2nd chances department.

All guesses.

I really believe that we need players to step up and set the tone for the team sometimes. We really haven't seen that this year. Suh did it last season. It has been documented how Martinez is more of a loner, and does not like the spotlight. But there has to be someone on this team (or now, next years team) that can step up and take that role and be a leader.

Just because certain players are voted as captains does not make them leaders. That is something that you have to prove. Nobody on this years team really wanted to take that role head on. I hope that is one thing that will change next season.

I think with Texas, the fans and media probably did more to place pressure on the team than Bo did. I think Bo was probably doing anything he could to make that game less important, and maybe that backfired, but the build-up to that game with the fans/media was absolutely ridiculous.

As far as the coaching of specific players - I don't know how you can discredit Bo for his treatment of offensive players when they make mistakes, when he does the same thing with his defensive players, who mostly excel.

I totally agree, I didn't like the hype and build up that even came from the University for the Texas game even before the season started. And the video that they produced was totally over the top. I would have expected that more from Pederson/Callahan.
