NFL Roster cuts

macroboy

All-Conference
Adi Kunalic cut by Carolina

Ricky Henry cut by Chicago

Octavien- Cleveland

Chris Brooks- Indy

Phillip Dillard- NY Giants

Keith Williams - Pitt

Anthony West - 49ers

Pierre Allen- Seattle

I think that is all. Hopefully some catch on practice squads.

That's too bad for some of those guys, especially the likes of Dillard and Henry who I thought had pretty good potential.

Carolina should have cut Mare and saved some $$$

Kinda shocked Allen and Henry got cut and really shocked Dillard got cut by the Giants. Also kind of a little surprised the colts cut Brooks but they have a ton of wideouts. The rest don't surprise me at all... Adi would have a job a year ago in the league but with the new kickoff rules guys with mediocre legs can kick off just as good as guys with great ones.

Article on Adi.

Talks about him drilling a 62-yarder.

There are so many good reports about Niles Paul, by the way. One Redskins vet reportedly said that Paul outplayed their third-round receiver, Hankerson. I saw another article that talked about Paul having better hands than Hankerson (along with the caveat 'although that doesn't mean much.') Another talked about how well Paul was catching the ball. Many mentioned his ST ability.

We all saw Helu tearing it up against Indy. He is widely expected to be the #2 back eventually, but that may be premature for now. Lots of stuff about him being very far away in his blitz pickup responsibilities. Interestingly, our last pro RB, Brandon Jackson, had blitz pickup as probably his biggest strength.

Found a bit on Gomes, and supposedly, he stood out among the safeties. So it sounds like the Redskins really knew what they were doing, when they picked three Huskers in last April's draft.

Kinda surprised to see Pittsburgh cut Keith Williams. Steelers need help on the OL, and don't have any depth at guard. I could see Keith catching on somewhere else. He's good enough to play Sundays.

Where in the hell was Paul's catching abilities when he was at NU then?
I'll believe he can catch the ball consistently in a real game situation when I see him catch the ball consistently in a real game situation.

Looks like Adi's skill was rendered nearly useless when they implemented the new kickoff rule. Why pay a guy to kick 10 yards past the endzone when any normal kicker can get it 5 yards deep consistently? Sucks for him.

Ricky Henry was resigned by the Bears and put on their practice squad.

Also DJ Jones has been signed and added to the Dolphins practice squad
