NFL teams not liking the college spread game for finding QB's

Getting away from the terminology, isn't the variation of the WCO that USC runs or the one that NU might run in all purposes be a spread? Isn't the whole objective of this offense is to spread out the defense? Perhaps you can look at the WCO as a spread pro offense?

The term spread is meaningless. When you get down to it, all it means is that the power I is not your base formation, and rarely use 2 backs in the backfield. Texas Tech uses a spread, West Virginia uses a spread. And the two offenses are about as different as you can get.

TO won 3 MNC in 4 years and played for 4 in 5 years, and nojne of his QBs played in the NFL, yet you are worrying about being an NFL minor league program? USC runs the BYU offense with more I-formation and one back sets, as well as empty sets. They don't run shotgun or and option or zone-read type plays. Their running game is zone blocking, like Denver, as taught by Alex Gibbs. NU's offense was to complicated!
