Niles Paul ticketed in downtown Lincoln

Nothing he did deserves a suspension of any kind. These are extremely minor offenses.

He deserves some form of off season punishment but nothing more.
You might be right. I'm just concerned that this is his second brush with the law concerning alcohol, and Bo alleged when he took over a couple of years ago that he'd be tough on stuff like this.

If anything it'll be a suspension against Western Kentucky, which is no loss but will hurt Niles' stats. It's possible that it'll just be handled internally and he won't miss game time, but I'd be surprised if that's all that happens.
No, no, no. Make him play EVERY down. And every pattern either a go, deep post or deep flag.

4th quarter - 3rd and one on the NU 29 yard line. QB (TBD) calls the play "QB sneak on two - except for Niles, he get gets to do a skinny post, and pick up your knees this time" Niles, "gasp, gasp, arrgh, gasp"
That could set up some pretty big play action...

Oh no, he might miss the Western Kentucky game. How ever will we score points without him...
We've got Curenski Gilleylen for non-con games.
Last time we saw Gilleylen it looked like he was auditioning for the Ice Capades during the Holiday Bowl.
Yea, if Guilleyn is the best we got after Paul, we are in trouble. Even the announcers said to get him off the field in the holiday bowl before he hurts himself.Well, the young wide outs will get a chance the first game, no way Paul does not get a one game suspension!!

Gil had a tough game in the Holiday Bowl, and Niles had a really tough one last year in the Gator Bowl...nothing really to judge about that. Curenski has a lot of talent and hopefully it starts showing soon; we were saying the same about Niles last year really.

Now Niles, apparently, is not afraid of being exposed in traffic. In a wide receiver, that's important.

If Niles sits a game we'll be fine. It'll most likely be against W. Kentucky, whom we could beat running the Wildcat all day long.

If we decide to throw it we'll have McNeill and Kinnie as our top two, and if we want to go deeper than that we've got Kyler Reed, Will Henry, maybe Tim Marlowe... etc. We've got guys behind Paul, he's just the best we've got.

I think it will be a real suspension. Bo has commented on this type of stuff before and has stated he does not like the embarassment it brings the program. Niles has had a problem before along the same lines. To forget it would send a bad message to the rest of the team. I doubt nothing to long. But it will be noticed by all.

they are just kids, like we were. I doubt a single one of us has not done the same, well maybe not on O street, but in public. sometimes you just gotta go.

I think this will end up being a bigger deal to Niles than anyone else. Bo is not going to be happy about it, for sure.

I grew up in the country. I think I peed outside more than indoors for the first 12 years of my life.

It was a little cold in the winter, though.

Apparently Bo has dealt with Paul about this incident already.

Per LJS:

"I have met with Niles Paul about the matter. It has been addressed and handled internally," Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said in a statement.
That's from Paul's DUI last year, not this incident. The article isn't written very clearly, but Bo's statement wasn't about this time around. I'm sure he'll issue a statement in the next 24/48 hours, and it'll probably be something like this again.

I would be surprised if Niles doesn't sit out at least one game. You have to send a message.
Hey, apparently I'm an idiot (surprising nobody), because I just read on another website that Bo's comment was for THIS situation, meaning "it's been handled." Maybe that's a confusing quote or maybe nobody really knows yet, but it looks like this is going to blow over.

Its on ESPN College football front page saying that same quote so dont feel to Bad!

The ESPN quote is far more clear than the LJS quote. When I first read the LJS article I thought after they began discussing last year's issue that the rest of it was just filler material, background for this developing story.

Again, my apologies for derailing this thread, because I was the one who said way back there that there was more coming, including possible game suspension.

:LOLtartar

as quiet as Bo is about these type of things, even with his 'internal' quote, i wouldnt be surprised to see Niles suspended for a game...and he would be deserving IMHO, especially considering Bo's dealing with past players' infractions no matter the percieved public view of the incident.

I would be more worried about the urinating in public thing...doesn't that mean he just made the sex offender list? just a question
I believe its the third time that lands you on the sex offender list. I dont know for sure or anything, but i dont wanna find out.
