With Jones leading the teams in tackles this is a slap in the face. Coz is pulling the wrong DB.

You mean he actally makes tackles?? Or are you counting the times when he love taps opposing players?

58 tackles. Actually pathetic that none of the LBs had more than him. Bradley is second at 53.

To give Jones some credit he has really became our best db towards the end of this year. The USC game was pathetic but I think he caught on hopefully next year if he starts he can improve his game. And Jones isnt affraid to hit people at times - the a&m fullback got drilled.

yeah i dont really get this. i think we are pullin the wrong person too. grixby is good and all but thenarse should get a chance at his spot. the time that thenarse has played he has done a good job.

There is another way to look at this - Thenarse gets assigned the "big" receiver, leaving Grixby to handle a smaller guy. That means that Grixby's athletic ability isn't negated, and at the same time puts the better of the two "recognition" guys (as between Grixby and Jones) on the field.
Not saying this is what will happen, but an intriguing possibility...

Jones will hit some one unlike a few other players in the secondary!! I have watched him put a hit on more then a few players...

Yes. Jones' lack of experience has shown at times, but the one thing he does not lack is a willingness to lay the wood.

OWH reporting that he lost Blackshirt due to not meeting with academic advisors. still the starter though.
i am glad that the coaching staff is making sure that the players go to classes and meetings with advisors or they get punished in some way.

I heard Jones interviewed on 1620 today and he mentioned the blackshirt being pulled because he missed the meetings with his academic advisors. He sounded like he truly regrets it and vowed he would work to make things right. I agree that it is great they are watching the players so closely academically in addition to their athletics. Not every student can be an academic all-american but they can all make the most out of their education.
