Colorado coach Dan Hawkins created a stir in December when he ended his speech at the senior banquet with the statement: ``10 wins, and no excuses.''
Hawkins on Wednesday explained the thought process in making that statement with his Colorado team coming off a 5-7 season.
``The statement is about what is your expectation, what is your level of excellence. That's the concept. It's not about 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 wins, it's about the bar of excellence and what do you expect. Do you really expect to be in the Big 12 championship game? Do you really expect to be in the National Championship game?
