Northern Illinois Week Pressers

I think these 3 non conference games are great for our team. Oregon is Oregon and these other 2 teams are both well coached units at schools with a history of playing tough winning football. No excuse to lose or play poorly against this team but it will be a good opportunity for the Huskers to get better.

  1. Nebraska is 5-0 all-time against members of the Mid-American Conference. NU's most recent victory was a win over Western Michigan in the 2008 season opener.
  2. Junior receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. has recorded back-to-back 100-yard receiving games to open the season. Morgan is the first Husker to post 100-yard receiving games in the first two games of the season in school history. A third straight 100- yard receiving game Saturday would tie a Nebraska record.
  3. Four former Nebraska greats will be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame this weekend. Quarterback Zac Taylor, defensive end Chad Kelsay, offensive lineman Randy Theiss and offensive lineman Donnie McGhee are former Huskers in the 2017 HOF class.

Bryant didn't practice today.  Neither did Knevel - Knevel has a stress fracture so he'll probably be out awhile.

Kalu also didn't practice.

Aaron Williams and Antonio Reed were in green no-contact jerseys.  Reed's right hand was wrapped/casted.

Knevel likely on a six week recovery time from his stress fracture.

Sounds like Kalu will likely be out multiple weeks as well.
